Without doubt, the best thing about our nursery is the staff team! Our staff have been selected to complement each other with their varied knowledge, experience and qualifications, and support each other in giving the best care and education to each child who passes through our nursery. Using our Staff Supervision and Appraisal system we provide relevant in-house and external training to support and develop our staff team, and ensure we are all up to date with current best practice. Our dedicated and motivated staff team treat every child with affection, patience and enthusiasm.

Kim, January 2014

All of our staff have received HSE Emergency First Aid at Work, REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene and REHIS Control of the Spread of Infection qualifications. All staff are members of SSSC and Enhanced Disclosed.

Kim – Manager, SVQ level 4, BA Pending June 2018

I have been managing Jack & Jill Nursery since 2000, and am responsible for the overall service of nursery.

I enjoy working in the nursery and find it very rewarding to see the children grow and develop over the years, particularly the children who spend many years with us and leave to go to school. The staff team at Jack & Jill Nursery is excellent and I am very proud of that.

My free time is spent with family and friends and mostly with my horse Mickey!

Jillian – Room Leader, SVQ Level 3

I have been working at Jack & Jill Nursery since 2007, I am Room Leader.

I love working with the pre 3's, ensuring we have lots of fun learning and developing our skills. I love the outdoors and enjoy sharing this with the children in my group by going on local visits, time in the garden and trips further afield. I enjoy attending training courses and continually deepening my knowledge and understanding of child development.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and enjoy going to the gym.

I love developing warm and trusting relationships with the children and helping them to achieve their goals. My aim is to complete my qualification and gain practical expertise and go on to study at degree level at Glasgow University to continue my learning and career progression.
